Let's Talk Nutrition

Nutrition is always a hot topic and so many different points of view.  However one thing we all agree on, whether you're eating Paleo, Zone, Ketogenic, counting macros, etc…. Is to, Eat Real Food! What does this mean?  Real food is from the ground/tree or from something that had eyes, it was living and can die or rot.  If it is packaged in some way, like a few slices of packaged meat, oatmeal, etc. Check the ingredients and select something with the fewest ingredients possible. It's been awhile since we've done a Nutrition Talk at CFI, so we're excited to let you know that one is coming this November.

Sarah M

Sarah Messervey one of our members, is a Registered Holistic Nutritionist, Functional Nutritionist and runs KetoFuel Nutrition in Collingwood, Ontario.

Her passion for nutritional therapy began while studying at University when she significantly improved her stage 4 endometriosis by removing grains from her diet.  This prompted her to study nutrition at the Canadian School of Natural Nutrition, with a focus on paleo diets and ancestral lifestyle. In 2015, Sarah was a busy mom and Respiratory Therapy student.  She fell ill suddenly and lost the use of her right arm and leg and the vision in her right eye.  She was diagnosed with Lyme disease and used nutrition, this time a ketogenic diet, to improve her condition and restore her quality of life. The focus of Sarah’s nutritional practice is science-based ancestral eating: the paleo diet and the ketogenic diet, as well as functional nutrition, to improve the health of her clients and to assist them in attaining their goals.  These diets have shown to reduce inflammation, increase weight loss, assist in balancing hormones and alleviate symptoms while addressing root causes from many diseases.  Many diseases, including multiple sclerosis, cancer, epilepsy and Lyme disease have shown dramatic improvement through ancestral eating.  The functional nutrition focuses on educating clients on proper habits related to sleep, light exposure, movement and stress management – all necessary for optimal health.

Sarah will be doing a talk at CFI in November.  We're working on the details on the exact date at the moment, which is why we asked for your input on a Tuesday evening or a Weekend Midday?
