Big Weekend

We had another busy weekend at CFI and within our community! As you know CFI was closed for classes on Saturday due to the CrossFit Adaptive Training Course.  An amazing day spent learning from CrossFit Inc. staff, Alec Zirkenbach, Kevin Ogar and our own Stouty.  We had a group of 16, from affiliate owners, coaches, to athletes interested and opening to learning more about adaptive training. An amazing course, that if it ever comes back this way, is a absolutely MUST take for everyone!  It's not just about training seated athletes, or athletes with an upper or lower 'permanent' injury.  When I (Jen) dislocated my shoulder, I became an 'temporary' adaptive athlete.  Something that this course also goes in to depth on!   It was a great course, and we thank all of you for your understanding on the gym being closed.  We try to not fully close the gym often, but we have a bunch of new tools in our toolbox that will only benefit you!

We went from the CrossFit Adaptive Training Course to the Eddie Bush Memorial Arena for Fight Night!History, was made last night in Collingwood.  The first ever Professional Boxing event was held in town last night.  Not only was our very own Striker Coach, Jay "hardknoxx" Alexander the main event on the card.  But Jay and his amazing wife Kelly, were the driving forces behind bringing boxing to Collingwood, and setting up and organizing the entire night!  It was great to see so many CFI faces out to support Jay, and the other local fighter Cody Kelly.Jay's fight may have ended in a draw, but it was an amazing fight!  6 rounds under the lights, letting months and months of training all come down to these 6 rounds.  Win, lose or draw, these 12 men left in all in the ring and Jay closed out the night with an incredible show, the crowd chanting 'Go Jay Go' and on their feet!  A great night in the Eddie Bush!

**Please stay tuned to an upcoming blog announcement of our gym hours during the CrossFit Games week/weekend (Aug 1st-6th).  There WILL be changes to the schedule during that week/weekend.  The gym will be open for classes everyday during the Games week/weekend.  However there will be a few changes, and there will not be open gym times on certain days.  We'll explain soon and it will be in zenplanner!**
