Do you pee during workouts?

"WHAT: Stress urinary incontinence occurs when the muscles that surround the urethra in the pelvic floor either weaken, remain chronically tight or lose motor control, which in turn increases the chance of leaking during high stress or increased pressure activities like squatting or deadlifting heavy..WHY: The main reason why this problem is more prevalent in woman than male is due to anatomical differences in the genitourinary system..SOLUTION: Attempt to improve the control and coordination of your pelvic floor muscles before a heavy lift by squeezing and bracing together. Seek out help if you start leaking at lower intensities or effort."
These seem to be common problems for women in Powerlifting, Oly lifting, CrossFit etc. However, just because they are common does not mean it is healthy.
If you notice you are having issues with "peeing" during or a workout or in everyday things such as running, sneezing, jumping please seek help from a specialist. The solution is not to just stop doing double unders or lifting heavy. The solution is to seek out help to fix it! Do NOT neglect your Pelvic Floor!
