Want to be a better Olympic lifter?

Snatch, Clean & Jerk.. They take a lot of practice and hardwork, and if you want to get better at them you need to show up and put in the work. These classes like todays are rare and are the days that people see and think there is no metcon so I wont go.But as we like to say when asked about what we do for strength training? We lift weights,Well then what do you do for cardio? We lift weights faster and longer.Being able to move the barbell safely and effectively is not something done easily nor should it be taken lightly. We Snatch and Clean almost every week for the soul purpose of creating better form. We are perfectionists at Indestri when it comes to technique, because we know great technique leads to good health and wellness. We approach everything we do by progression and I will be first to say doing today's workout with a PVC, trainer bar or empty bar will get you a good workout as you will fight for position and technique and it will really help fix some flaws in your technique.There is a lot of time between reps and lots of time to work with the coach on the floor. I know our coaches will be excited to give direction and aid as we all know the art form and the struggles that come with Olympic lifting. So before you think.. "I don't like snatch" ,  "I cant do this  stuff" or "there's no WOD" come try it out and get better, be a better athlete and understand these classes are necessary to be well rounded and safe in the gym.Coach Stouty **Reminder 6:30pm is a special Intramural come out hit a fun team workout, + wish Dee the best as she gets set to head out to compete at the 2019 Reebok CrossFit Games in Madison.  Hopefully we have a few special guests stop in too!  (Coach Bill + the Jackson’s if they’re back in town!)**

Focus:

Snatch Complex E 90sec x 7Snatch High PullSnatchHang Snatch High PullHang SnatchThis complex is all about the snatch. The snatch high pulls will develop sound balance and bar patterning throughout the first and second pulls. The addition of two snatches (full & Hang)  at the end will challenge the your ability to stay tight and pull  aggressively under the barbell, since the high pulls have used up some the pulling capacities and you need to really commit under the bar. If you have mobility issues you are still working through this can be a practice day for you but if you want the stimulus of a heavy day then you may use a Clean complex version of this.

WOD :

EMOM 26 minutes of:1 Hang Squat Snatch or ( mobility issues)  Hang Squat CleanHeavy but Perfect*3 second pause at the bottom
