If you follow us on Instagram you have probably noticed a few of our last posts with members holding cardboard signs.  Taking a page out of the Instagram account Dude with Sign’s book.Yesterday we posted a photo of Deanna with a sign that read, “My muscles are a beautiful representation of the dedication I have to my Sport!”When we first started coming up with the signs, we wanted to aim for some bold signs.  CrossFit has always been known for being bold.  The founder himself has taken many bold stances.The latest post we did with Deanna, has hit home for many.  If you didn’t see it;“A lot can be said here.Firstly, muscles like these are the result of a tremendous dedication to the Sport of Fitness. They represent countless hours of training, an amount of training that most of us would never commit too. Training with a goal to be among the worlds fittest! As well as strict nutrition. Nutrition that is focused on how to optimize performance.Secondly, muscles like these are functional. They are the result of performance based training + genetics. Not aesthetics.Thirdly, it’s never okay to negatively comment on someone else’s body. Whatever your opinion is, keep it to yourself! Just like you wouldn’t comment on someone being overweight in a negative way, don’t comment on the size of their muscles. It can be just as hurtful + rude!Lastly, whether you agree with our opinions or not. It truly is a beautiful thing to witness so many strong athletes come together day in + day out, to celebrate what their bodies are capable of doing.A strong + healthy body, regardless of the size, shape, definition, amount of muscle, etc. is beautiful! Period.”
