Some Hopeful News
You should have received an email from us earlier today with some hopeful news. We know the COVID-19 situation is gaining more frustration as time goes on and while we don't any direction or answers yet, we wanted to share some hopeful news with you that we have received.
We know that training inside our facility is about more than just the physical fitness. For many of us, it's our time to let go of the stresses of daily life. CrossFit Indestri has become a place many of us come to see people who have grown into good friends. This time away from the facility and physically apart from many of these relationship has been hard. We're working hard to be able to give that back.
We’ve been taking steps to prepare the facility with the hopes of being able to reopen soon. While we have not received any guidance or guidelines from the Government as of yet, we have been talking to other affiliates who have been allowed to reopen and having them share their best practices with us.
We have currently, mapped out floor space that would allow athletes a 9 foot area to themselves, this will include a 6 foot buffer between and around each space, to maintain social distancing. We will continue to implement the steps we had put in place prior to the shutdown, including, asking that upon arrival and departure, that everyone washes their hands, etc. and are working on the layout of equipment in the gym to be able to maintain that everyone will have their own equipment, in their own areas, that will be cleaned immediately after use of each class. Both by the athlete using it, and then again by the coach prior to the next class.
We have also been looking over the class schedules, to see what would work to allow for more class times, as class sizes will need to be reduced in order to maintain social distancing, and not have any overlap between classes.
We are also looking at using the main front door for entrance to the facility and the door on the small side for exit, to also allow no overlap of anyone.
The schedule along with all the protocols that will need to be implemented will be shared shortly. This is something that will need to be changed or updated based on what the government gives us as guidelines.
We have been reaching out to both our MPP Jim Wilson as well as Premier Doug Ford to respectfully ask for the consideration of Functional Fitness Facilities to be able to reopen, and have just received a response from MPP Jim Wilson, that he has also reached out to Premier Ford with a letter to advocate on our behalf.
A hopeful step which we wanted to share.
We know and fully understand, that once given the green light, that not everyone will feel comfortable or be able to return right away, we want to assure you we will be continuing to offer zoom class times, as well as continue posting our daily programming on the blog. For anyone who wishes a little extra personalized work, we're more than happy to continue to offer that as well.
We also want to let you know that we are currently working on plans for outdoor workouts. Should we be given the green light to begin classes in outdoor spaces, which is something we’re also advocating to Premier Ford for.
We miss seeing everyone daily. This news has given us hope that we will begin to be able to start working out together in or at least outside of the facility again soon.
