Picking Weights
Picking weights for workouts can sometimes be tricky. If you find this is the case, chat with the coach about what the desired stimulus of the workout that day is.
Somedays it’s programmed to have you go heavy and slow down, some days it’s programmed to have you go lighter and faster.
As an example the Hero WOD Randy we’re about to do is meant to be light. 75/55 is not meant to be heavy, so if your 1RM snatch is 75/55 lbs, you’re going to back off the weight for this one. Even though you can lift it, this workout is meant for you to barbell cycle many reps at a time. We don’t want you doing your 1RM or close to it, 75 times in a workout. For a workout like Randy, if 75/55 for you is extremely light, the challenge for you is to go fast with perfect form. Every rep to be as beautiful as the first.
All our coaches are always happy to help direct you towards the weights that will work for you with he desired stimulus / outcome of the workout.
Randy’s a great workout, that we repeat, so make sure you’re writing down your time and the weights you used. Have fun, and get after it!
