Our next addition of Real Talk is on the space in the facility.

Granted a lot of you came to us over the past few years, during the time when we needed to keep distance in the facility. That isn’t the case anymore, and we’re trying to get everything back to our pre-COVID days.

Prior to COVID, we would have 20 athletes train in our classes, all on the big gym side. Our small gym side was never used during class. It was actually originally designed as our kids side, which is why the monkey bars are there and the rig is shorter.

During COVID we moved the KB’s, weight rack and trainer bars, etc. to open up that space to allow us to have more athletes train in the facility while we had the boxes taped on the floor. We had moved the chalkboard from beside the Crossover Symmetry to the spot it was until very recently when we went back to a small whiteboard (which is what we originally had for the first 3 years of CrossFit Indestri), same size.

We’re now trying to get you out of the habit of setting up in the small gym.
Real Talk, it’s extremely hard to coach that gym properly, especially during a lifting focus, coaches never want to have their backs to you.

You’re more then welcome to use that small gym for the rig, but please get out of the habit of heading over there to set up for the workout. The big gym alone has more than enough space to have over 20 athletes set up. If we need to use the small gym for space because of the workout and equipment needed, the front area of the small gym is fine, but no one should ever be setting up for the workout near the platforms. Because of that wall, the coaches can not see you properly.
