We wanted to say thank you, as we know a lot of you wrote to our MPP Jim Wilson on behalf of our facility during last weeks grey zone lockdown. We appreciate it, other facilities that we’re closed under grey also appreciate it.
Let’s hope this time it sticks.
What we ultimately need is for the Ontario Government to rework the framework so that all business in any colour can be open to a safe capacity. We have been asking that the framework be reviewed, we have also been asking that Fitness Facility been deemed essential and be allowed to stay open to a capacity that we’re able to keep everyone at distance apart, sanitize the facility, etc. What the Ontario Government doesn’t understand is that the CrossFit Affiliate business model was already very much like many of the protocols. We have contact information for every member, we already had class limits and class registration, in a lot of cases athletes had to keep a distance for safety ( We’ve just made it a great distance with COVID ).
We will keep working towards having fitness deemed as essential. We will keep asking that the framework be reviewed to allow all businesses to stay open to a safe capacity. If schools can be open and run gym classes, why do fitness facilities have to be closed?
We have always taken COVID seriously. Your health and safety is important to us.
But we believe that the protocols we have in place are just as safe, if not more then many of the other businesses that have been allowed to remain open this entire time.
Let’s just hope this time sticks, and we don’t ever go backwards again!
