Humbled
It’s CrossFit Games week. The first two days of this week our workouts have offered movements that are newer, or we don’t do as often, with Double Arm KB Snatch, and Double Under and Single Under Crossovers. So many of us found ourselves humbled during or after these two workouts. As you should honestly.
CrossFit is hard. Pushing ourselves to what we’re capable of, is hard. You shouldn’t ever get down on yourself for something feeling hard. It’s supposed to be.
Lately we’ve overheard talk about feelings of discouragement with scores on the leaderboard. That’s a whole blog post on its own, coming soon. But here’s some real talk for you. The leaderboard is not a true reflection of your fitness, so stop worrying about it so much. It’s a guide, so honestly do not let it discourage you, and stop wasting time reflecting on it, and what others are doing. CrossFit is an individual fitness journey. It doesn’t matter what others are doing, or what the outcome of the leaderboard is. We’ll get into it more on an upcoming blog post.
But what we want you to know is that, it’s okay to be humbled by a movement or a workout. We as affiliate owners are humbled daily, and we’ve been doing CrossFit for over 11 years, and we write the programming.
Humility breeds patience. To be humbled, you realize you may have a weakness, and you work on training that weakness to get better. Through being humbled you often learn that everything takes work, nothing is given, it has to be earned, and to earn it, it takes time. There’s no hurry, CrossFit, and fitness is a journey. If you rush it, you miss vital steps that will ensure the longevity in this journey.
