What we know at the moment
Some details regarding stage 3 have been shared, however it’s not all laid out easily and once again we’re left guessing with some things.
However here’s what we know right now.
On Friday we will be moving back to indoor training. A lot of the same guidelines we had implemented in our facility prior to the last lockdown is what we will go by for now as well.
Most important, if you’re not feeling well, DO NOT come to the gym.
We are going to give it a try without retaping the full boxes on the floor, we will instead have markers down to give you an idea of the distance that needs to be kept between athletes, but we will not hold you to a boxed area. The distance we’ve been told is 2 meters apart.
When you’re on the pull up rig, always face out, please do not face in and face other athletes. Also please keep your distance, do not set up side by side with someone unless they’re in your same household, and please do not hang out under the pull up rig.
Bring your own chalk. When your hands are sweaty, you can slip off the pull up rig. Our chalk buckets will not be coming back anytime soon.
Washrooms will be open for use, as of Friday the showers will remain closed until we hear otherwise in the guidelines.
We will begin our reopening with class sizes of 10 to start, we need to get a feel for the layout and movement around the facility, the distances, and ensure that everyone can be kept safely distanced before we increase the class sizes. While we have a large facility, with a high enough fire code that at 50% capacity we can add more than 10 athletes, it’s important to us that we ensure everyones safety, and distance and increase numbers in a way that is safe and comfortable for everyone.
You MUST ( no exceptions ) sign in for class BEFORE coming to the facility. Class registration will still open at 8pm the night before classes, you must ensure you’ve signed in for a class before attending. If you’re signing in through the app, please ensure you click the register for class, not the add to google calendar. Adding to google calendar does not sign you in for class.
If you’re signed in for a class and unable to attend we need youth sign out at least one hour prior to class so someone else can sign in. If you’re no showing for classes there may be a charge that will need to be implemented.
Please note for those signing in for the 7am class, there is also still a virtual 7am class, please ensure if you’re signing in for the in person class that you sign in for the correct class. Believe it or not it mistakenly happens a lot that the virtual class is signed into by accident.
Continue to sanitize or wash your hands when entering the facility and before leaving the facility please.
Ensure that any equipment you use is cleaned off and put away before leaving. We will have multiple buckets of fit wipes around the facility for you to use to cleaning off your equipment. We will also be fogging some of the equipment, ie) boxes and plates. As well as sanitizing the floor between classes.
Classes will remain at 45 mins currently to ensure we can sanitize the floors between classes. Please do not arrive early, and please do not enter the facility until the previous class has exited.
We haven’t seen any updates on guidelines for masks. We would suggest masks upon entering and exiting the facility, or where a 2 meter distance can not be maintained. We will not require that you wear a mask when training. But ask that everyone keep the distance.
As mentioned the class schedule will remain the same for right now.
While this list of rules may seem long it is set to ensure the health and safety of everyone while in our facility. Athletes, coaches, staff. Keeping everyone safe and healthy and our facility open is our priority. We would ask that everyone please be respectful of everyones else’s comfort level and personal space.
It’s been a long and stressful 16 months for everyone. We’re doing the best we can to navigate through this, we thank everyone for your understanding during this time.
