As Defined

Fitness is defined as, the condition of being physically fit + healthy.

Training is defined as, the action of undertaking a course of exercise in preparation for a sporting event.

Working out is defined as, engaging in vigorous physical exercise or training.

In not one of these definitions does it talk about size, shape, or weight!

Imagine if more people + facilities focused on fitness/training/working out as defined, + less on body image!

Let that sink in for a minute.

We so often relate fitness/training/working out with weight loss. Nothing really wrong with it, but talk of weight often comes with negativity + in turn a lot of people look at working out with a negative light. A lot of the fitness industry therefore markets to weight loss. We often get asked why we don’t post transformation photos or even market to the weight loss aspect of CrossFit. It’s because first and foremost what we do in our facility is train you to be able to move well inside the gym so you can convert that to the things you like to do outside the gym. Our focus isn’t on weight loss. The truth is, when you commit to training with us, trusting the process, + enjoying the training, you will begin to see the changes in your body happen. Getting fitter as a result of the training will come! If that means muscle gain, or weight loss, fantastic if that’s what you’re after!

But we don’t believe in marketing to make you feel badly about yourself. The “You put on the COVID-19 15lbs ads" we’ve been seeing. It’s just not our style. We look at training as a celebration of what our bodies are capable of doing, not ever as a punishment for anything you decide to eat or drink!
