Canada’s First CrossFit Affiliate Summit
This past Saturday Coach Steph and I (Jen) attended Canada’s First ever CrossFit Affiliate Owner summit, hosted by CrossFit HQ and held at Element CrossFit in the city.
What a day.
We reconnected with lots of fellow affiliate owners that we’ve known for years, we met some new ones, we sat through some great lectures from CrossFit HQ staff, shared some best practices with fellow affiliate owners, and of course we hit a WOD with over 100 other affiliate owners.
It’s no secret that the past 2 1/2 years have been hard on affiliate owners, many affiliates closed, and for the rest, we had to dig deep and remind ourselves of our why often. Sitting in Element with the other affiliate owners, listening to Matthieu who is a flow master for CrossFit HQ’s seminars speak, was inspiring and refreshing.
Matthieu shared a story that had been shared with seminar staff by Boz about a salt shaker. It resinated deeply with us, as we will always #movethesaltshakerbacktothecenter because, weCROSSFIT. CrossFit was founded on an ethos of hard work, uncompromising standards, and unrivalled community spirit. The ethos of CrossFit permeates from coach to athlete, and we as affiliate owners strive to be the best representation of that.
CrossFit Indestri is a CrossFit Affiliate. We take the caretaking of the ethos seriously.
We may share more on the affiliate summit later. But for now, we leave inspired, we leave knowing that the decision to get back to a 100% coach led facility was the right one, because that is CrossFit. And we leave proud to be a CrossFit Affiliate.
