It was a weekend of all of the fitness….
Firstly, Congratulations to Coach Sarah who headed to Moncton to compete in the Canadian National Championships Masters Weightlifting and is coming home with the Gold! We’re incredibly proud of this amazing woman. For those who don’t know, years ago a surgery on Sarah’s wrist could have caused her to not be able to Olympic Lift again, but as you can see, that is not the case, and she’s killing it. Sarah’s to humble to brag, so we’ll brag for her. Make sure you congratulate her when you see her.
We also had a crew take on the Summit700 21k run at Blue Mountain. These ladies did an incredible job. Susan (not pictured) finished in a time of 3:10, Jenn R in a time of 3:21, Coach Steph in a time of 3:31 and Krista in a time of 3:38. An incredible accomplishment by all. The summit700 is not your average 21k run, it involves running up, down, and all around a mountain. Well done ladies.
And we also had a crew take on the 2022 UG Games down at the Terminals. For those of you who don’t know, The UG Series events are very close to the hearts of many CrossFit Indestri athletes. From 2012 until 2019 the events were run by Scott Thornton (founder of CrossFit Indestri), Paul Sproule (longtime member) and myself (Jen). CFI athletes have been at the heart and soul of the UG events since the inception of UG, from competing, to volunteering, judging, organizing, travelling to cheer on etc. So it was a very different year for all of us, not just myself. Change it’s always easy, but some of the greatest things come when you accept change, so on Saturday afternoon, I headed down with the sole purpose of just supporting our two teams competing. It was very different for me, but I’m so glad I went. These two teams repped CFI well. I’ll post more on this tomorrow, as there are a few things I would really like to highly, but for now, just wanted to congratulate everyone on a weekend full of fitness. It was also great to see so many members down at the terminals all day supporting our crew.
All around it was an incredible way to cap off the week we officially turned 12. Well done to everyone.
