That Mental Training

Here’s where that mental training we touched on yesterday comes into play. Knowing what the WOD is, but coming anyway, on a day like today.

We’re going way back to the old school CrossFit days for this one. This is a workout we used to do at least twice a year, once near the start of the summer, and once before the snow flies. But we haven’t done it in a long, long time.

The Hero WOD Griff, was first posted on the CrossFit.com Main Site as the workout of the day on Monday, June 9, 2008. (080609). In honor of USAF SSgt Travis L. Griffin, age 28, who was killed April 3, 2008, in the Rasheed district of Baghdad by an IED strike to his vehicle. Travis is survived by his son Elijah.

We know that full days of running are not a crowd favourite. But they are necessary in our programming. So if you look at the workout below and decide it’s a day you might not feel like coming, come anyway.
