The RX

The meaning of the RX in workouts is do the workout as prescribed.

Meaning for a workout like Fran, that is written,
21 - 15 - 9
Thrusters 95/65
Pull Ups

The RX means you do all the reps, 21 - 15 - 9 of the Thrusters at the prescribed weight and the pull ups. But more than that, you are doing each and every rep to pull movement standards as well. Every thruster is below parallel, every thruster is fully locked out at the top before beginning your next rep, every pull up is chin over bar, and full lockout at the bottom.

The RX is more than just the prescribed weight of the workout, or the movement, it’s the standards of movement through full range of motion.

There is absolutely nothing wrong with scaling or modifying a workout, especially in with weights, and high level skills. They’re something to consider striving towards, but nothing wrong with it, if that’s just not your goal. But movement standards are something to always achieve (minus an injury that prevents something.)

But if your goal is to say RX at the end of a workout, ensure that it’s the skill, the weight, that it’s the standard of movement that is being reached.
