Holiday Monday was Murph. If you did Murph, you might need to take a couple rest days. Listen to you body. You might have felt pretty good all Monday, but wake up Tuesday Morning and feel sore, stiff and a little beaten down. This is not a sign to keep pushing.
We’re always happy to scale and modify workouts for you when needed due to injuries happening, but if your body is sore and tired from a gruelling workout you need to take a rest day.
This is the were we struggle as coaches sometimes. CrossFit is for everyone, we can always scale and modify a workout for something going on, to help ensure you get the same stimulus, but we don’t scale or modify because you’ve overtrained and your sore. We know that people get CrossFit stoke, and have serious FOMO on workouts, but in cases where you’re sore and tired the best thing for you to do is take a rest day.
If you’re tired, if your body is sore, your body telling you to rest. Go for a walk, do mobility, maybe yoga, etc. But don’t be afraid to take a rest day, you will not lose any of your fitness by taking a couple days, in fact you will most likely come back stronger.
We’re telling you this because we care. We want your bodies to remain strong and healthy so you can continue to CrossFit for a very long time.
