Looking at the WOD

Just a reminder that when you look at the WOD if you see things you don’t know, or aren’t 100% sure you can do, don’t worry about that. Part of being a Coach led facility, is that it’s part of our Coaches job to teach you the movement, and to also help scale, modify and adjust if and when that is needed.

Let’s take the DB SA OH Squat in the workout below, which stands for Dumbbell Single Arm Over Head Squat. A very large % of our facility are unable to safely perform a DB SA OHS, this is something we already know when programming.

So why program it?
Because there are athletes who can, and we always have the ability to scale and modify the movement when needed.

During the coaches brief the coach will explain the DB SA OHS, but will also have other options ready to explain as an alternative to that movement. So don’t let certain movements in workouts stop you from attending that workout.

When we program, we program knowing that we have other options already in place, we just don’t put all those options on the blog or the board, that is part of the coaching of the class, coaches will talk you through those options.
