Dave is Back

On the CrossFit Games side of of CrossFit HQ that is. He’s been back for awhile on the affiliate side of CrossFit.

For those who don’t know what I’m talking about, Dave Castro has stepped back into the Sport side of CrossFit HQ. As of yesterday he is taking over the role of lead on the sport teams for the CrossFit Games.

Dave Castro alongside Greg Glassman created the CrossFit Games. The Games originally took place on his families ranch in Aromas Cali for yesterday before out growing the location and moving to Carson, Cali, and then in 2017 Madison WI.

The 2020 CrossFit Games (during COVID) were held on the ranch again, with 10 athletes, 5 males, 5 females competing. A little while after that, the then CEO of CrossFit who was also labelled as the new owner, fired Dave Castro and shocked the entire CrossFit world. Not long after he was removed as CEO, and they Brough Dave back in a different role, working with affiliates.

As of yesterday he is back on the Games side of the team as well.

Why is this a big deal? For those who are fans of the sport side of CrossFit, it just didn’t feel the same with out Dave (the man who created the Games) involved.
