Something that comes up from time to time is the expense of doing CrossFit.

For those who started CrossFit back in the day at the old gym location with us, you might remember that an unlimited membership cost was $155. + tax per month. When we moved to the location we’re currently in the price was reduced to $125. + tax per month ( for an unlimited membership ) and has stayed the same price all these years later. 12 years in business, and while our costs to do business have all increased, our membership price has never.

$125. per month for an unlimited membership with us, that most people use between 4 to 6 times per week = on average = $5 to $7 per class. The average personal training session costs between $65 to $100 per hour. At $125. per month for an unlimited membership you’re paying roughly $25 - $30 per week, depending on how many weeks fall in that particular month.

Other facilities in our area charge between $45 - $65 per week which works out to $180 - $260 + tax per month, while others charge $140 - $175 per month or even $25. per each class attended on punch cards, and recently we’ve had details on remote training between 6 to 8 week sessions at a cost of $800, shared with us.

If we were take the $260 + tax per month cost and average it for classes between 4 to 7 times per week = between $9 to $16. per class. $9 if you’re attending 7 days per week, $16 if you’re attending 4 classes per week, vs. our $5 if you’re attending 6 classes per week or $7 if you’re attending 4 classes per week.

Of course there are facilities that you can go and pay $30 to $50 per month, maybe even less, and do a workout, but those are not coach led facilities, you don't have the programming done for you, or the coach on the floor, coaching you through the movement and ensuring that you’re moving correctly.

This breakdown isn’t to make anyone feel badly for saying that CrossFit can be expensive. We’re simply addressing something that comes up, and not even necessarily from our community directly but in general for those who enquire.
