Running is Back

Well sort of, and we mean outdoor.

Depending on the weather right now, if it snows again that’s a different story, and yes we’ve had you running laps of the gym, but today, depending on the weather, we’ll be hitting the ground outside again so dress accordingly please.

If (only if there is an injury that prevents running) the sub will be the assault bike. The C2 bike is not the same stimulus as running, and while we’re happy to modify when needed based on injuries, we still aim for the workout to have the same stimulus, and the C2 bike is not it for running.

Also when it comes to running, our first option is not to change the movement (unless an injury prevents you from running of course.) the first option will be to scale the distance. If 400m is too much, scale it back to 200m and start there. Speak to the coach, it’s there job, and they’re always happy to help you adjust to ensure that you get the most out of your time in the facility.

When we write these and or say these things in classes, we’re speaking to the general population of all athletes. Of course we have some of you who we are working with further, who will row, or must use the C2 bike, and we know who you are, and why your modifications are different.
