Share the Weight
Day in and day out what we do inside our facility is often just training. But some days, it’s more than that. It has a meaning so profound that it’s moving to watch the workout play out. This past Saturday was one of those days.
We did a workout to pay tribute to McCoy Turner. As mentioned last week McCoy was a highly decorated coach in the CrossFit space, an L4 (one of only 110 in the world) a seminar staff, flow master, affiliate owner, husband, and father. McCoy also spent 17 years in the Royal Navy, and had been suffering from severe PTSD. Unfortunately he decided to take his own life on Saturday, March 8th, 2025.
The workout we did was put together from members of his fellow seminar staff team, the workout done as a team was designed beautifully with an incredible meaning behind it. To share the burden or the weight, to ask your team for help when it was getting to be too much, and to rely on one another for help and support with the weight.
Sometimes a workout is more than just a workout.
That’s one of the beautiful things about CrossFit and what we do.
We know for many fitness is more, it’s a way to release some of the stresses of everyday life. If you are ever feeling the weight is getting to heavy, we truly hope you would reach out. We’re a community, and you have a whole community here of people who care.
