We often hear people say things like “CrossFit is crazy!” Or “CrossFit ‘people’ do crazy things!” In fact last Saturday while we were pulling sleds of presents at the Santa Claus Parade, a young boy asked his mom what we were doing. Her response was, “Those CrossFit people just do crazy things!”
I wanted to respond, but didn’t!
We’ve had many conversations about this lately.
When you started CrossFit, we had you go through our fundamental program, to learn | ensure you’re movement is correct, to learn of any injuries or limitations, etc. We do not just throw you into class + expect you to figure it out! We also don’t push you, or even let you do things that you’re not capable of doing. (We do encourage you if we know your capable)
However, someone who has never downhill skied a day in their life, can rent a pair of skies, but a lift ticket, + hit the slopes! That seems perfectly normal. But “CrossFit is dangerous or crazy!”
