The Collingwood Community Food Co-Op is having their grand opening this weekend! So if you’re around this long weekend, pop in and say hi and partake in some of the great activities. There will be lots of food to buy, including a chef making crepes and shakes! Let’s show the community where the healthiest members are from (CFI). Check out the details at: http://www.facebook.com/Collingwoodlocalfoodcoop and http://www.ccfcoop.ca/
This week I thought I would give you a peak in my new fridge (we just moved and are still unpacking, hence no cabinet doors). The saddest part about my move was getting rid of our extra wide fridge, but it means I have to eat the fresh food faster. So here is the first installment of What’s In MY Fridge (WIMF):
1: 2 dozen eggs from the Co-op and some sparking waters for Sarah (note: it has a lot of added sugar and we don’t really drink these)
2: Homemade Kombutcha (a lot of it) and a few pounds of ground beef for dinner and leftovers.
3: Some raw nut butter, organic fruit and almond milk, all from the Co-Op.
4: A lot of fermented cod liver oil! For the developing brain we are nurturing and ourselves. From Green Pastures.
5: Beet Sauerkraut for gut health, coconut water for post-wods, and local cider for the long weekend!
6: Various sauces and more nut butters. Included is Tamari Gluten Free Soy Sauce as the only soy product I’ll ever consume.
7: More veggies and fruit.
8: Products outside of the fridge: Primal fuel (grass-fed whey protein powder with coconut for fat, almond milk for shakes, coconut oil for baking and just eating off a spoon.
No need to show off the freezer, its all left overs, grass fed meats (a lot of liver I got to use) and soup bones.
See everyone at the Co-op this weekend!
