The Leaderboard is up and running. For those that don’t know what I’m talking about, be sure to find out this week and join us next Saturday when we do it all over again. We have 50 athletes registered for our team this year! Pretty amazing for a small box up in Collingwood. Saturday was an incredible day, with many of our athletes hitting new PR’s for multiple reps.
Hopefully those of you that didn’t sign up this year can come by and check out the action. You’ll get the bug for sure.
Some of the highlights for me, and notes to the leader board are:
Stouty hitting the Games Open Wod. Period. Gutsy move, then hit 40 burpees and 4 snatch.
Martha Whitton sitting 10th in Canada East, and 90th Worldwide!
Dillon Fremlin sitting at 7th in Canada East!
As a team, 71st right now. I think the Snatch is probably our weakest movement as a gym, so we expect to continue to climb up the ladder over the next 4 weeks. Can’t wait for Wednesday to see what’s next.
On a personal note, my performance was not the greatest today for whatever reason. I had a game plan, that was immediately thrown out during my first round of burpees. I sulked for a while, then saw a picture of Nash and I that Jen captured. The two of us hitting a rep at the exact same time. Pretty incredible capture, and a very proud moment for me. Nash had never hit 135 lb snatch before, and managed to get 11 today, with really good form. He’s proud and happy with his performance, which brings everything back into perspective for me. It’s all about Community, not personal achievement. We’re building a stronger Collingwood 1 wod at at time, and proud to be part of the group.
Let’s have a solid week of training everyone. Get after it again next weekend.
