Congratulations CFI crew. Through the generosity of you our members, our area community, and the greater CrossFit community at large, yesterday we came together and raised $11,579.45 for Narda Hunt!
Take a moment and be proud! Steph, Stouty and I are extremely proud of you!
We had over 65 athletes come to hit the WOD with us. Including non-crossfitters from the Collingwood community, and a couple different groups of members from other CrossFit gyms, everyone wanted to come out to support Narda and her family. We were also joined by, Brian, Annabella & Olivia. ((Narda really wanted to attend, but with cold and flu season beginning and them getting ready to travel to Germany yesterday afternoon, it just was not smart for Narda to take a chance at getting sick.))
Yesterday truly felt magical. It was a great reminder that while there are horrible things that happen in the world, there are also truly amazing things. And once again, when a small community comes together, they can truly make a BIG impact! This is the truth, and we’re not just talking about money. The sheer fact that so many people showed up yesterday moved Brian do tears. It’s pretty powerful to know that while you’re family is going through such a difficult time, you have a strong support system standing behind you.
From Steph, Stouty and I, thank you to everyone! Everyone who donated a silent auction item, everyone who came out to eat brunch, WOD, bid and support. Everyone who helped us set up and clean up. A huge thank you to Aron Knight for his phenomenal brunch! Thank you for coming together and showing us how great humanity can be!
We will continue to update you on Narda’s progress as we learn updates. As of this morning they’re in Germany and Narda should be getting her first treatment tomorrow.
