With 18.3 in the books (don’t forget to submit your scores asap!) we now have 3 Open WODs in 2018 down and only 2 more to go!
Congratulations to everyone participating, we’ve tons of amazing displays of athletics. It’s always great to see you push yourself to achieve something you thought you couldn’t. The open is a magical 5 weeks for a number of reasons. But it does also has its flaws. One of the biggest, is the fact that you get way to caught up and worried about it. For 99% of us, it’s just another workout. CrossFit is not a sport for us, it’s our way of staying active and healthy and the Open is a fun time of year, when we get to “play in the sport”. Yes there is a difference. There are a small % of CrossFitters in the world, 1% who make money participating in the sport of CrossFit. For them, the Open is more than just another workout. It’s the first step in their road to the Games and to a paycheque. But for the rest of us, it is just a workout!
So we’re going to ask you to try something for us this week
This Thursday at 8pm when Castro comes on live to announce 18.4, whatever it may be. Don’t sweat it. Don’t get all wrapped up in what it might be. Whatever it is, it’s just another workout. You will come in on Saturday, and hit it, do your best, and we will be right beside you, cheering for you the whole way!! But don’t get down on yourself, don’t let ‘ego’ take over and don’t let in any negative self talk! Look at it as a chance to test your current level of fitness, for you! Forget the leader board! Enjoy it, and embrace the community!
We’re proud 18.1 – 18.3, you should be as well! Lots of 1st, lots of PR’s! But most of all, we’re proud of your movement and hitting the movement standards!
Just a reminder that this upcoming Saturday, for 18.4 our theme is St.Patty’s Day. Come dressed for the occasion.

The very First WOD CrossFit.com
This is a play on the very first wod CrossFit ever posted. Their version was with Dumbbells and running. I have had enough of dumbbells so I put us back on the Bar. My Friend Kevin Ogar sent me this and I subbed it in for a different thruster wod we had planned. We talked about remembering when programming the simple workout and most basic CrossFit programs we get to the art of what crossFit is. Sometimes we get lost in trying to be fancy when really a great couplet will always do the job.
The goal will be to pick a weight you can move well and row fast and efficient.
We will try this again this summer when we can run and see how it compares to this version
