We’re just a few days away from the start of the 2018 CrossFit Open.
It’s always an exciting time of the year for CrossFitters. While it’s the road to finding the fittest on earth. It’s also a way that we can all play with the fittest.
If you’re a baseball player, you don’t always get to play on a level playing field with your favourite major league player. But if your a CrossFitter you do! We do the exact same WOD, we get to experience exactly what say, Rich Froning, Sam Briggs and Chris Spealler do! That’s what makes it so exciting!
For many first time – seventh time athletes, you’re nervous. Honestly try not to be. It’s just another workout. Mind you, you will be doing it with a judge beside you! But please know, the judge is a fellow CrossFitter, and member of CFI. It’s not scary. It’s a way to make you better!
Please keep in mind for all competitors that your judges are volunteering their time for the open and you need to treat them with respect! If you get a no rep, the judge did not see the standard of movement completed. Shake it off and continue with your workout, ensuring the movement standards are met!
Judges, in order to judge you need to be comfortable and confident with giving your fellow athletes a no rep, should the movement standard not be met!
If you haven’t already registered to compete in the 2018 Open! Get to it! As scary as it might seem now. It’s truly and honestly a lot of fun, and it brings out the best athlete in you. You’ll push yourself to places you didn’t think you could go. But that all your coaches always knew you could!
