I would like to pay my respects to the veterans that fought for our freedoms. We acknowledged their sacrifice with a minute of silence after our morning workout today. It’s hard to imagine that some of those soldiers were still teenagers when they went off to war. Lest we never forget.
Tyson, Sarah and Paul participated in the “Two Bars and a Snatch” competition down at the new Crossfit Reebok facility in Woodbridge today.
Unfortunately, I wasn’t able to make it down there to watch. With our regular Sunday WOD, and the Charity Hockey Game in support of our local Veterans, I was only able to catch some of the comp via their live feed on the website.
From what I did see, it was pretty exciting. The three of them worked well together, feeding off the energy in the room. It was a different format, with the first 2 wods acting as a ranking system to set you up for the rest of the day. Only the top 12 out of 48 teams made it to the Elite Division. Our Indestri team were seeded in the A Division after the heavy strength tests.
With 18 teams in the A Division, they battled hard for 3 workouts to qualify for the final 4 Semi Finals. They finished 2nd in the Semi Finals, which put them up against a team from Ottawa in the finals. They only lost by 3 sec’s in the final workout!! Remember why we always say, every second counts.
Overall, it was exciting to catch some of it through the feed, but can only imagine how you guys felt at the end of the day.
Congrats guys, we’re proud that our little box up north is starting to make some noise in the competition circles. Look out for Team Indestri at the Crossfit Open this winter. Keep training hard.
