It was a tough workout this weekend for 13.2. After talking strategy for 5 days, it was my turn to finally just suck it up and do the work. I realized quickly that any strategy I had was all for nothing, as the legs filled with lactic acid and started to burn. Honestly though, I had a great warmup, lasted about 45 min. and felt very ready to do the wod. The movements were surprisingly effective in different ways than I thought.
E.g. The push press turned into strict press, because I was trying to save my legs. They were burning just standing, so tried to not dip drive too much.
The box jumps were easier for me to jump than step up. Others will argue, it’s a personal thing. I tried to step up to catch a rest once in a while, but legs were burning too much, kind of quad dominant movement. The jumps are more calf than quad, so figured that’s why it was better for me?
Anyway, fun weekend all in all. I love the gutted feeling I get after completing a tough workout. Feels great to know that I couldn’t have done any better on this day.
